I was kind of assuming that he (Dan) was going to undertake this anyway; however, after reading your comments here, I've realized that was not a good assumption to make. I would agree that we all trust him to do it, if he'd be willing.
The next question (after Dan or someone volunteers) is do we all just send our money to whoever is going to do this, before the bidding is over or do we wait to see how much it actually goes for? My thought is that this should be up to whoever decides to do this. I don't want to end up losing the thing because Dan (or whoever) doesn't have enough cash on hand to cover his (or her) bid.
