Please forgive the intrusion...does the righteous indignation regarding the `bootlegging` spring from the fact that you don't have a copy of it...or are you trying to assume the mantle of Mr Baerwald's agent?
In the light of the fact that he's a regular contributor to the board and (the probable fact that) he follows all the action on Ebay, if there was anything improper taking place he has an ideal vantage point to deal with any `offenders`.
I don't believe any true `fan` would profit off hot stuff, but if there were oppurtunists around, they'd do it with or without your/David's permission.
Not that that makes it any more `right` but then if floodgates have been opened regarding cd trees (AFM etc) then the law of averages say that a few stray boots will also slip through the net.
In this `Napster-ized` musical era, artists can't *really* have managers like Led Zepplin's Peter Grant (unafraid to physically assault any musical thieves) because if you're out of the public eye then you're music won't get out at all. It would probably be wisest to let DB's team deal with it if they feel strongly about it...my gut instinct says that they all have more important things to do other than justifying bootleggers existences by trying to nail them up in copyright infringement suites.
But then I could be wrong...I won't start saying whose guilty or not, but let's not get too arrogant about the roles we play when it comes to protecting the work of our favourite songwriter.
Respectfully,
Richard
