Yes, bootlegging is illegal--hence the term "bootlegging." I never attempted to argue the legality of what Kravitz did. What I said was that I disagree with the reasoning behind the law. As I also said, I am a member of Harry Fox, and derive a decent income from publishing royalties. In other words, I don't want to burn Lars Ulrich in effigy--but at the same time, I don't think Napster is quite the problem NARAS is making it out to be. This is a complex issue, and that was basically the gist of my last letter. Telling me to "move on" won't make it any simpler.
Also, calling DaWayne Bailey names is hardly any way to defend Deborah Miller. If you knew DaWayne, or had any real understanding of the facts behind his departure from that "70s rock band," I don't think your description of him would be so pat (or negative).
