I've watched people crash
like broken birds
with dazed and
desperate eyes
and I've filled my head
with music
so I don't have to hear them cry
my feelings sucked me empty
I became callous to survive
in the wild wild west

that's me I think...especially when my beautiful kids start wailing and bleating about not wanting to go to bed, or school, or the dentist or spinach for tea...or being forced to watch Celtic versus Rangers  ha ha.
