I'm only mildly familiar with Joe Henry, but I know fully what the rest or your posts about his talents, says about his talents. David Mead as well, I think he's grouped in with that bunch of artists that like DB any output from him we all appreciate. Working my way up the commercial ladder. Neil Finn's most recent CD "One Nil" is brilliant. Tracks full of sonic surprises, grimy guitars, outstanding harmonies, and McCartney-esque melodies crop up in all the right spots. Now to the top of the ladder. R.E.M.'s "Reveal was just released and if any of you used to like them before the "big time" this one might just draw you back. The sound is simply voluptuous, not that "wall of sound" feeling but synths and samples brilliantly placed in the mix, along with the acoustic and electric instruments.Deciphering Michael Stipe's code is never easy yet here are 12 engaging songs that contain clearly defined verses, choruses, and middle eights. Which in this modern soundscape REM have no rock boundaries. There are some easily spottable "hat's off" to Brian Wilson moments which again the band pulls off without a glitch. And hoping wishing, and praying that Lindsey Buckingham would give us something, anything.C'mon Lindsey it's been EIGHT years.

Regards,
Kyle
