Not that I've heard... you neglected to mention how Israeli children have also been killed by the 'other side'. Which is to say this isn't a malady that is unique to Israeli's, if you want to rephrase this to run alongside both that and the suicide bombers then lets talk about that.

There's an interesting article on page 46 of the International Newsweek (Dec 01-Feb 02) that covers part of that. Basically it surmised (for me anyway) that honest dissent is one thing, but for pathetic 60's throwbacks and reactionaries to think this current situation is Vietnam rehashed deserves to afford them all the contempt and obscurity they get.
Incase you've forgotten, there's a media and a senate who'll come barrelling after GW Bush if he screws up on this. IMO it seems reasonable that there are portions of the public who'll go barreling after the Derschowitz's of public-life who'd glady see another dozen 9-11's and blame it all on US foreign policy without the slightest notion that a nation such as the US has the right to defend itself.
Far be it from me to start moralising as to why the war should carry on, why don't you give me a reason why the US government and the other 70-odd countries should shrug their shoulders now that 3000 of their people were murdered. *If* there is a good reason and America *is* the real hotbed of iniquity that certain people like to maintain, why didn't more people go and become American Taliban? Or are all these 'unamericans' really just a bunch of whiners just looking for a chance to trounce out their victim status one more time?
It's also worth noting that the majority of the grandstanders who are railing against the war are obviously burdened because they won't even leave this iniquity behind...it's hell on earth, but we can't leave it behind. Perhaps they want to have their cake, eat it, throw it back up and then expect the rest of the world to feel their pain. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh - there, there...
