Hey friends!
I've got a few minutes to raise a few toasts before I head home to hunker down and my home to avoid drunken revelers and the annual fusilage of fireworks from my neighbors.
1. To everyone here I disagree with: thank you for having the guts to post your thoughts and feelings here. I may bristle from time to time, but heck, difference is how we learn. Thank you for keeping my mind open with your views and may we all come to some point in our lives where we feel that everything is ok. Deep down, we're all going for the same thing, personal liberty, peace, security and love. All these divergent roads are trying to get to the same place.
2. To Mr. David Baerwald: I think this year is going to be a Big Year for DB. Here's to continued success both personal and professional, high record sales and perhaps a tour so I can finally get out and hear you play live. Oh, and maybe a European tour, just for Mick!
3. To Dan: For the volunteered toil and trouble to keep this page running, starting CD trees and not letting this discussion board get stagnant!
Me? I'll have my first New Years that I'm not on call in five years. I'm celebrating at home with my wife and children enjoying Boulevard Pale in Moderation, playing Scrabble, watching Godzilla films and reflecting on the weirdest year I've ever lived though. Yes, David, "These ARE the good times!"
And, if you're in the Lawrence Area tonight, I have two live venues for you to check out. One, is the Jazz/Rock/Jam sounds of Einstein Electric. They'll be playing at the Jazzhaus tonight and they're incredible. If you like that Dead/Phish/Stringcheese/Moe. thang, you'll love Einstein Electric.
The other is Split Lip Rayfield, Last of the V8's and The Hearers at the Bottleneck. Bluegrass just don't touch it folks...if you go, better have your insurance card with you and notify your next of Kin.
Ok...53 minutes left. Gotta fly.
