What I don't understand is how the Republicans in office keep getting away with pushing the same agenda and tax codes down our throat.

Republican in the President's office = changing the tax code to let those with $$ keep more and therefore spend more.  The money will "trickle down".  But it doesn't.  This is our second go round with this theory.  Both periods have lead us to higher national debt, devaluation of the dollar, and in turn the economy goes to hell.  The only thing that trickles is second home sales go up and pleasure boats building goes crazy.  I seen it first hand, both times.  In the Reagan years I lived on Cape Cod and now reside in a small town near Newport, RI.  The boat yards can't keep up with the orders and you can't get anyone to do anything at your house because the contractors are straight out.

If you want to know how the Republican ideal plays out.  Get out your history book and take a look at this country from the post Civil War era up through the 20's.  Ask your self where did Income tax start?  How did the unions get started?  Where did our laws come from to created and protect the national parks?  Where do the labor laws come from?  Where do the government regulations on businesses, as relates to labor, working conditions, and protection of the environment, come from?

Capitalism unchecked is an ugly thing.  Left to our own devices most humans will step on others to get to the top.  They will let people die to get rich.  Don't believe me, refresh your memory.  West Virgina coal mines, railroad wars, kids working at 4 years old, etc...

I get a visual of the fruit of that era every week driving around doing my errands.  The grand "summer cottages" of the Vanderbuilts, the Firestones, the Dukes, and the West Virgina mine owners are still there on Bellvue Ave.   Come for a visit and take a tour.

How anyone who lived through the 80's can think the Reagan years were worthy of a tribute video is beyond me.  How this country could elect another president who said he wanted to follow in his footsteps is even more baffling.

I'm pretty disillusioned with both sides of the political fence.  I'm looking for alternatives to the same old, same old.  I think that's how Arnold got in.  He's not one of them.  It's a deseparte cry for help from the citzens of California.  Anything but the same old shit.

Repulbican or Democrat?  Really it's just a question of how you like your lies painted, isn't it?  I prefer mine a little more liberal, thanks.  I want to feed that tenth of the country and I want make sure that the one-hundreth is paying for it.

Isn't the ideal tax code for a Republican that is you make $30,000 you pay 31%, $100,000 you pay 31% and if you make a $1,000,000 you pay 31%?

That didn't make sense to me at 23 and it still doesn't at 40.  Yeah, I work my ass off for my $$ and I don't want to see it pissed away.  But I also realize not everyone had the same oppertunities and family structure growing up.  We have to make an effort to bring the bottom up.  Does it always work?  No, but you can just say screw 'em, can you?
