Youch!! Settle down a little Kravitz. Please. My intention was NOT to incite a flame war at all here. Nor did I wish to step on your delicate sensibilities. I simply stated that I'm unwilling to buy the media's spin on this affair hook line and sinker from a 10 second soundbyte. PLEASE UNDERSTAND, I AM NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, CONDONING THE WAY THE INGLEWOOD POLICE OFFICERS INVOLVED HANDLED THIS SITUATION. But doesn't it seem a little premature to go jumping to the conclusion that they grossly mishandled it based on the skimpy evidence at hand? Mr. Jackson did NOT get a savage beating in the same manner as Rodney King. Yes, it looked kinda rough, but are you sure that that wasn't necessary and if so how? Remember, these cops put their lives on the line every day (for you and me) and if they encounter a combative individual, they only have seconds to react. It could mean life or death. It's bound to be a difficult job. I know I wouldn't want to do it. On the other hand, I'd be curious to know exactly how you would have handled such a situation. Perhaps you would have invited Mr. Jackson to discuss it over a latte?
All I'm saying here is that I'm extremely tired of the way the media sensationalizes every story long before the facts get sorted out. Then, all of a sudden, we have a feeding frenzy on our hands (can YOU say riot?). Lives and careers get ruined (and it won't be Donovan Jackson's) from this sort of thing. All for the sake of selling us the so-called "news".
Now we have every minority/human rights group on the planet jumping on the bandwagon, exploiting this story for all its worth to promote their own platforms and causes including, but not limited to, the "race issue". Lawyers are chomping at the bit to get a piece of the "7 figures" they feel this is surely going to cost the city of Inglewood, CA (AKA law-abiding California taxpayers).
Unfortunately Kravitz, the problem runs deeper than an occasional over zealous cop. IMO (and that's all it is), much deeper.
FYI - I have never had any type of sexual relations with barnyard animals of any type, ever. Well, I did take the pigskin bus to tunatown a time or two, but I digress. As to the authenticity of my integrity, I'm not at all concerned with what you or for that matter, anyone else thinks about that.
