Approaching midnight and I was meandering around looking for some new album reviews.
Came across a paper that David's dad Hans just published. Pretty interesting stuff � it�s about the transformation of Japan's government after the war. There's even some biographical stuff. For instance, his father (DB's grandfather) was a German POW of the Japanese during WWI. I didn't even know such a critter existed.
But it shouldn't be too much of a surprise - anyone with German blood is sure to have a soldier or sailor somewhere down the line. (My grandfather was in the Wehrmacht, and got stuck on the Eastern Front the whole war.)

Interesting how the leaders in every aspect of Japanese life were replaced. Maybe that's part of what we need in the US - we manage to interchange the bobbing heads in Washington, but we don't ever change all the CEOs!!
It is truly shocking that the in-depth intellectual analysis conducted for the purge was ignored by the Military brass. Jumbo shrimp, anybody?
Finally, a confession: I'm a freaking BIF!
