Your observations are dead on EEE.  Thanks for expressing them so eloquently.  Since I started the whole Springsteen thing, let me first say that I in no way meant to slight the man, nor offend any of his fans.  I too enjoy his work.  No, I'm not a huge fan, but I definately understand your point about the odd and seemingly random ways in which a person can form a bond with an individual artist or a band. I know Bruce is no exception and he IS a fine tunesmith.

I haven't always been a huge David Baerwald fan either. Sorry DB. In fact, I only became aware of David because I was (still am actually) a huge Kevin Gilbert fan.  After the TNMC album I started buying David's albums too (first Bedtime Stories then Triage, etc.) and really liked them, but I didn't give them all that much thought.  But as some of you may recall, I made a very strange connection with David's music while sitting on a street curb in Manhattan the morning of Sept. 11th while collecting my harried thoughts. For the sake of brevity, I won't go into that whole story again, but suffice it to say that he (via "Nobody") definately DID have a very personal impact on me that day that will be hard to forget (thanks for that BTW David). If my situation that morning had been any different at all, it never would have happened. Oddly enough, it's the only reason I'm even here responding to your post.

So yes, it can happen to anyone I suppose in some way or another and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks about it at all.

Thanks again for saying so EEE.

Marc

BTW - I have a Toby Keith album that I quite enjoy too.
