Icon Hope I die before I get sold

: When it comes to touting the superiority and idealism of our rock 'n' roll culture, we boomers have very little leg - or even walker - to stand on.

Now that was a hoot.  I rarely laugh out loud when I read mainly because my lips are moving. (laugh now.) But I got a big ol' belly laugh from this.  A by-product of this dinosaur band marketing is how those of us in subsequent generations kept looking for Our "The Who" or our "Rolling Stones."  I think the jury is still out on who created the great MEGA-BANDS of the 80's and 90's.  But I get a hint of that when I talk to youngin's today and they get all misty eyed hearing me telling stories of seeing REM, U2, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and others in their infancy.  "I was close enough to Cobain to smell him...and it wasn't a pleasant odor!" gets squeals of glee from zit faced budding guitar players who were wearing diapers when I was getting crushed to the floor by bigger meaner guys in the moshpit at those shows.

By the way, did anyone get out to see "The Other Ones?"
