*Kevin's Top Ten* -"Tunes he's jamming to at the moment"
.)NEIL HALSTEAD-"Sleeping On Roads" Front man from Mojave 3. His first solo record. Subtle, warm acoustic affair. Quite lovely stuff!
.)BETH ORTON-"Daybreaker" Not her strongest album. Has it's moments though.
.)HEM-"Rabbit Songs" Lovely sounds from female fronted NY band.
.)LINDA THOMPSON-"Fashionbly Late" Title says it all from this folk god of the past. Stellar production which includes amazing support from many tallented people. Could be "Folk Album Of The Year"!
.)WILCO-"Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" I can't believe how good this album is. For once, "the hype" is for real!
.)DAVID BAERWALD-"Here Comes The New Folk Underground" Do I need to say anything about this one?
.)GEMMA HAYES-"Night On My Side" She's a singer/songwriter from Ireland. Just got short- listed for a Mercury Prize. Folk meets fuzzed out guitars. A hard first listen, but grows on you like moths to a flame.
.)GRAND DRIVE-"True Love And The High Adventure" I still can't believe this album has not been picked up by an American label! Two Aussie bros. hook up in London to form an alt. country band. Sounds like Mercury Rev meets The Jayhawks.
.)FOUR TET-"Pause" I've had this CD since last December and I can't quit playing the damn thing! Electronic music at it's finest. If you love Boards of Canada, this is a must!
.)PAUL KELLY-"...Nothing But A Dream" O.k. I'm going to sound like a complete nerd here, but Paul Kelly is a fucking god!!! He can do no wrong!
