I was very disapointed in the OVO:The Millenium Show. release of a couple of years ago. Yes It does include some interesting guests:
-Iara O'Lionaird, of Afro Celt Soundsystem fame. Check out his first solo dis on the Realworld Label. Haunting vocals sung in jis native tounge.
-Elizabeth Fraser, of Cocteau Twins fame.
-Paul Buchanan, of The Blue Nile fame. His band has three discs out. All worth checking out.
* On a interesting and maybe in a slightly gossip related note*
Paul Buchanan dated Patricia Arquette after her ralationship with Peter and we all know that their relationship was much documented in the "US" album. Patricia surely does like those male rock stars from the U.K. ?
But again, the OVO album just never warmed up to me and got very little play in my CD player(s). It just seemed rushed or forced? and not coherent enough for me to qualify as a proper release from Mr. Gabriel. It's more of a collaboration, then a solo disc. A friend played the new soundtrack CD for me a few weeks back. ??? No comment!, haven't listened to it closely enough to critique. Though I will check out the movie when it gets released in the states.
You might want to check out either one of his CD-ROM's. I have both and have enjoyed them immensely. EVE takes awhile to crack, but the graphics are just amazing!
Cheers!
