I think we talked about Sonny many posts back. One of my favorite all time slide players, definitely takes acoustic and electric slide guitar to a new level. I've got Outward Bound, South of I-10 and Levee Town. He had a couple of CD's before on a smaller label, which I have not heard. He's great live if you get a chance to see him. Saw him in Montreal twice at Jazz fest, and he is touring now, I believe. Just played Annapolis,MD at Ram's Head Tavern.
His songwriting on Levee Town, I think is even more sophisticated than his earlier compositions, especially "Love and Glory", and "Turning of the Century" (which just gives me chills):

In the evolution of you and I
Living under the everlasting sky
From a smoke signal to a cell phone
And call waiting where the buffalo roamed

Free spirited gypsy souls
Shedding Eden on a serpentine road
Tires hissing with a mystic drone
Can't you hear that flat snake moan?

Well, that's the road rolling out from under our feet
Turning with the century
Like the road rolling out from under our feet
We are turning with the century

Later,

Gene
