: I think I have half's-heimers or something...
Not to worry...the list goes on and on, so you're bound to forget; perfectly natural.
A dear friend of mine,Scott Beal, started a small record label, called Gaff Music (the origin of the name having to do with a gaseous friend of his; more on this later after a couple of beers..), based in NC. So far he has some great releases with artists Jim Brock (percussion) and Walter Egan (of "Magnet and Steel", Fleetwood Mac). What's really exciting is he is now working on a project with Wyn Cooper and Madison Smartt Bell doing music to accompany Madison's new novel. The demo sounded fabulous, and I believe they will record the whole thing with Don Dixon producing.
Now that I digressed...antedating all of this, Scott put together a neat small tour with Vassar, Buddy Cage (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Sammy Piazolla (drummer Hot Tuna), and Boyd Albritton (sometime guitar player with Quicksilver Messenger), that basically fizzled, but had it's moments. There were a couple of live recordings; definite party atmosphere. How Vassar hung with those guys is amazing; it was bluegrass meets acid....quite interesting..
