: Hmmm...I'm glad to see you guys are "catching up". Jerry's been around for some time now
I guess my first foray into the world of Newgrass or Dawg Music was with the vinyl version of "Mar West" by The Tony Rice Unit.
There was also the classic album " Unfolding " by Edgar Meyer and "Changing Channels" by J.D.
I still have these on the MCA Master Series.
( And then there also the Dreadful Snakes )
I admit that in my "high school" days that this was not the direction that my musical interest was taking until Goose Creek Symphony came along.
The corn won't grow so rock n' roll.
I too have seen many different pairings and mixings of these fabulouse musicians musicians and they are some of the highlights of my concert going history which is many and varied.
Do not miss the individual side projects, they are all awesome. The Sam Bush Band, The Jerry Douglas Band, The John Cowan Band, The Flecktones...
Tim O'Brien, Darrell Scott and on and on.
I am fortunate to have a small venue in my neck of the woods where these guys "came up" and they still return to The Down Home because they love it. The Down Home is closing in on 27 years and that is unusual this day and time.
Love those Skip, Hop and Wobble shows. :^)
