Finally, something I know about!
Carnival of Souls was shot here in my home town. You can actually see my office in one shot. The spooky building in the opening scenes is the Reuters Pipe Organ Plant which stands at 6th and NewHampshire and is currently for rent. The bridge that is featured prominantly crosses the Waukarusa River and is still standing but not in use anymore. I'll bet it's good to fish from.
As for the funky lakeside carnival and the big hotel near it, I have no idea where that was shot. It looks like Nebraska.
