Yeah, I know.  I am still kinda fascinated about the whole thing, and all the theories.  No doubt Oswald was the shooter, or one of the shooters, if there were more shooters involved.  I'm not sure I buy the "conspiracy" theory, but the ballistics and the timing of the shots, beyond some sort of miraculous "other" explanation, do point to more than one source.  The other bothersome thing to me, is whether Oswald acted freely, and of his own volition, or was he clearly the fall-guy for a carefully planned course of action by a group of people who wanted to kill JFK.

I was a kid when it happened.  They sent us home from school (even in Canada, where I was raised), and we were glued to the TV and papers that entire weekend.  The assassination took place early afternoon on a Friday.  We were only told that "President Kennedy of the US" was shot in Dallas,TX.   He was loved all over the world; we were in shock and of course, disbelief.  So I saw it all "live", funeral procession, Jackie in mourning, the kids (little John saluting), Walter Cronkite..and finally Lee Oswald getting shot by Jack Ruby as he walked from the police station, LIVE as it happened (and then they replayed the thing dozens of times).   It was a dark time, though it was a sunny, but very cold late November weekend in Montreal.

Months later, the country was getting back on it's feet again, and along came the wonderful Beatles, and we ran home from school again, eager to watch them on TV on Ed Sullivan.   Those were some times.  Ah, but I have reminisced long enough..thanks for letting me share.  It was a turbulent, but magical time for awhile back then.
