Two things. First, why the unnecessary crack on school girls? Second, seniors do have a lobby (AARP) - and it's one of the most feared in Washington. Those people (and I use that term with affection) have nothing else to do but bitch and vote. And that's a deadly combination. As for why they ended up endorsing this new medicare plan. Well, I think it came down to something or nothing and they chose something...even though the system as it stands right now (even before this massive addition) cannot stay afloat for much longer.
