Sheesh Reg, that description could have just as easily been written about the Kennedy dynasty. Just substitute Mass. for Maine and penny loafers for cowboy boots and it'd be a done deal.

I understand why you're making the connection but in reality there's little that relate the two. The Bush family is a far different deal than the Kennedy's. America had a love affair with the JFK and RFK and sort of wanted to glamorize that whole deal...Jackie, Marilyn...I mean it doesn't get much better than that.

The Bush family has gone about things in a far different and much more low key way. Also for the most part I think the Bush family, except for Barbara maybe, is not at all well liked except in certain circles.

Really I'm not real high on some of the comparisons this guy draws but I think he's got an interesting perspective and some really interesting ideas. Like I said the thing about Mr. Phillips that really interested me was that his take on this so reflected what Dean seems to be about.

I always remember the thing about George the 1st was his inability to relate to the average Joe. When he was campaigning I remember the stuff about how he had no idea what a loaf of bread or gallon of milk cost. The thing about the Bush family is they have always seemed to give the impression they could care less about the working stiffs...the most important thing always appeared to be taking care of their big money pals.

I always found it funny that Nixon and people from that administration thought he was a "lightweight"...

Basically the Kennedy's really weren't a dynasty...America just wanted them to be one so badly...but they killed them before that could happen...unless you think Teddy is a dynasty all by himself...
