Yeah, I agree with you Dave. I was just kidding about coverting Dale of course...probably made him choke on his corn flakes when he saw those numbers. It's all sort of sad really.

I liked Dean too...but as a messenger...not for president really. Watching the early debates I got a little pissed off because I thought Dean was expressing what a lot of us felt and all the DC guys pretty much ganged up on him. There was probably a lot of reasons for that but...I don't know it seemed pretty pathetic...the worst was Lieberman's grandstanding trying to get him to sign a document to release his records during a debate.

I just felt like Dean was so far "outside" they'd never let him "inside" and they just didn't want him around. I read yeterday that the DNC folks have pretty much asked him to leave the race if he doesn't win any state on Tuesday...for the good of the party I guess...

I like Dean, but the strongest reason I can see to support somebody else in the Democratic pack is the violent dislike he seems to provoke in the right-wingers.

Yeah, see I think that's huge too. Too many people, including Democrats see him as too radical. That's sort of a mess. I think he's all done at this point with the money issues...no tv advertising (I kind of think all of the tv ads suck anyway, from all the candidates, at least what I've seen) and Arizona, which was supposedly very strong for Dean, has (according to polls...I don't trust 'em) gone Kerry by double digits.

Their best tactic to succeed in this is to keep the passions on the other side banked down, to let wavering Bush-doubters decide he's not worth their support. They won't ever oppose him.

That's an interesting point. I hope the Democrats are thinking about that. I don't think the Democrats should run an "attack style" campaign against Bush. I think they should point out his mistakes...there's so many...but not be vicious about it. Rove is bound to run a smut style campaign and I think people are sick of that. We can hope.
