The biggest thing that sticks in my craw is the "chickenhawk" angle of this. As I said earlier, here we have a man who walks, acts, talks, and dresses like a soldier but did all he could to avoid the test of battle. Then on the other side, you have a man who did all of these things and then, the right dares complain and try to scandalize his growing opposition to war.

Chickenhawks, in my opinion, are some of the most distasteful people around. But don't get me wrong, I do not believe that it takes a person's participation to allow them to be hard-liners on defense. But people like Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz and others like them, both democrat and republican, are disgusting and it makes me sick to see these now tough men are portrayed instead of the wimpering cowards that they truly are/were.

And that is why I think this is an important character issue. Anyone can send people to fight on their behalf - it takes a courageous person to truly stand up for their beliefs, whether it be going to jail, Canada, war or being a conscientious objector. Chickenhawks clearly do not do such a thing.
