I'm sure the President is feeling better since Nader's announcement. Ralph could have lent his support and whatever credibility he has left to the arguments already voiced by Howard Dean and Dennis Kucinich; they're not far apart. And he could have done it without entering the contest for president.

As it is I have to agree that his motives are suspicious and his timing incredibly poor.
