Mick:

EARTH UNDER FIRE is a book that I have heard of --- but dammit Mick --- I simply cannot read EVRYTHING OUT THERE!

Currently, I am reading the following book:

FRANK ZAPPA: The Negative Dialectics of Poodle Play

by Ben Watson

This book is a scholarly overview of the social and dialectical significance of Frank Zappa's music. Watson compares Zappa to a man named Theodor Adorno --- a man who injected psychological mindfuck techniques into everyday pop music.

This thing reads like a PhD dissertation --- it is refreshing to read a book about pop music that doesn't read like a DICK AND JANE reading primer!

Thanks for the tip --- I will put it on my TO BUY list.

Mick, in a typical year I read about 150-200 books.

At least someone here is doing their homework!
