Could someone explain to me, why the heck would any politician want to give gun manufacturing companies immunity from prosecution? There are true issues that any manufacturer should be liable for. For example, several years ago out in California there were several gun manufacturers of cheap firearms (and when I say "cheap" handguns, these are the type of firearms that no real gun afficiando would even want to hold - Jennings/Bryco/Hi-Point) that couldn't even account for tractor trailers full of handguns. (And I am not making this up and since this one of these companies has since went under).

In cases such as this, isn't it fair such companies be held to some sort of liability?

Our cultures' love of guns is completely mystifying to me. Personally, I do like shooting guns, especially the little ole 22 rifle, but cannot comprehend the almost pathological affinity for firearms that so many people seem to have.
