I don't feel like posting the entire article but there's a guy who is upset because an upcoming film about FISH as Mafia style gangsters has "italian" sounding people doing the voices. I recall this same kind of thing occurred when "Star Wars Episode I" came out.

Hopin' it works.
Anyway, I'm curious as to how everyone feels about this kind of thing. The way the article reads, he wants to remove the ethnic sounding accents from bad guys because it causes racial stereotypes.
Personally, I think he's over-reacting. I certainly don't see folks from Nebraska getting up in arms when a bad guy has no accent. And what does "no accent" sound like anyway? Broadcasters say that folks from the midwest have a featureless sounding dialect, but I'm from Kansas...middle of the midwest and folks that I know from California think I have a twang.
So anyway, let's hear it. Am I off base. Am I missing the point? Am I a closet racist by thinking this is no big deal?
Whatchyall thank?
