I think I sounded a little grouchy the last time I posted...so I'm going to talk about movies again...
So, here's 4 films I really like that find the main American character in another country...
Tempest - Where are you going? A Greek Island.
American Traveling Companion: John Cassavetes as an architect.
Local Hero - Where are you going? A small coastal village in Scotland.
American Traveling Companion: Peter Riegert as an "acquisitions man."
Before Sunrise - Where are you going? Vienna.
American Traveling Companion: Ethan Hawke as a guy trying to decide what he'll be.
Lost In Translation - Where are you going? Japan.
American Traveling Companions: Bill Murray as an actor and Scarlett Johansson as a young wife who feels a little lost.
Now I know I said that it was five films and at the moment if I had to add number 5 to this list I think I'd add "Before Sunset" which is the sequel to "Before Sunrise" and it comes out this summer. This time Ethan and Julie are in Paris.
What I'm hoping is you guys can add a fifth film that you've seen that sort of fits the feel of the 4 other films I listed. That's the challenge here and maybe I can find a new film that I haven't seen that I'll like from your recommedations...
I hope some of you have seen some of the films I listed above. I think if you've seen any of them and liked them you'll like the others on the list.
So, fire away with some films here you movie buffs...
