Hi Kent,

A (long?) while back, you were complaining about not being able to get your hands on a copy of "They Live" by John Carpenter - maybe due to some big conspiracy - I dunno  ;-)  Being a filmbuff myself, I couldn't help but notice...

Alas, one week ago, they showed the movie on Danish TV, and since I hadn't seen it for MANY years, I had to tape it and see if it could still hold its own.  Great premise, almost Philip K. Dick-ish, but lacks the philosophical depth.  Roddy is not the greatest actor in the world, but does provide some authenticity to the role.  A few plot holes here and there.  Starts out good, but descends into bad make-up and too much violence.

You know, I admire JC, especially "Halloween" and "The Thing" are unforgettable, but he's also made some less than average movies and this is one of them.  Nevertheless, can't blame the guy for committing himself to going all the way out.  I respect that.

Anyway, if you're still dying to get your hands on a copy, I can send you the tape if you can use/live with the PAL format and Danish subtitles...

Yours,

Don Pedro
