1.)"The Little Prince" - Antonine de Saint-Exupery
This was introduced to me by my mother when I was a very young lad. I remember her reading the novel to me, not fully understanding it until later on in life.I still re-read it every few years. My all time favorite.
2.) "Catcher In The Rye" - J.D. Salinger
Read this one in eight or ninth grade? This book saved me from the unbearable darkness called: Catholic High School.
3.) "Becoming A Man"- Paul Monette
This voice made it so easy for me to come out of the closet and face so much hate in this world head first. There's no turning back now! The strength and wisdom I found in Paul's words about his life made me feel I was not alone as a young gay man trying to face his demons. I believe I read it in one sitting. My life, forever changed.
