Greetings:Dorothy Harbour has written a wonderful little book --- ENERGY
VAMPIRES: A Practical Guide For Psychic Self-Protection. On pages
4 through 7, she describes what an ENERGY VAMPIRE is, and the
three types of ENERGY VAMPIRES. In light of recent comments, I feel that it is important that the
individual to whom such comments were directed, understands
exactly what we are talking about. The following is quoted from Dorothy Harbour's book ENERGY
VAMPIRES (pgs. 4-7):INTRODUCING THE ENERGY VAMPIREVampires don't exist only in scary novels. In fact, famed vampires
such as Dracula likely represent only fantastic descriptions of their
real-life counterparts who were energy vampires that lived not off
blood, but off the energy of their victims. At first, the term energy
vampire might seem bizarre, even though it quite accurately
describes the facts; psychological power over others can be
obtained (and misused) only by those who can control internal life
energy and are able to manipulate it. To put it in a positive light:
those who can strengthen their internal life energy will not become
victims of energy vampires, since they will not offer a vulnerable
psyche upon which energy attackers may prey. But what leads energy vampires from stealing life energy of their
fellow human beings in the first place? The answer to this question
stems from what was previously said: in contrast to electrical
energy, with which we can gain wind or water strength, most of us
hardly know how to control and manipulate life energy in the
physical world. A light of life energy burns in each living being,
similar to the energy of combustion engines, that gives each being
the energy necessary for survival. But for an energy-deficient
person to increase his or her energy level, the only available
resource is the energy of a suitable, but insufficiently protected,
human being.People like myself, who are able to see the energy mantle that
surrounds every individual, often see a familiar, but always
disturbing, sight when we observe two people arguing with each
other; both auras flow into each other, and are red-orange at the
crossing points. As soon as one of the combatants wins, and the
loser backs away, the two auras seperate. The aura of the victor is
noticably inflated, and has gained in volume, as well as in shine.
The aura of the loser seems to have shrunk, similar to a baloon
losing air. The aggressor may think that he feels great because he
offered the better argument. In fact, the agressor is drunk on the
energy that he has taken from his opponent. By the same token,
the loser feels downtrodden and exhausted; through this vampire
attack, the loser has just lost part of his life energy. We would be
much more careful and kind with one another in this society if
more people were able to witness this impressive spectacle of
energy robbing.COMMON TYPES OF ENERGY VAMPIRESLet us take a look at the three most common types of these energy
robbers.01) THE LOVE VAMPIREThe most common cases of energy vampirism result from the fact
that people have differing energy levels. In nearly every group or
family, and in a significant number of marriages and other
partnerships, there is an individual, who --- rightly or not ---
feels less vital than the rest of the group and thus tries to profit
from the "energy riches" of the others. Everyone knows at least one
of the most common type of energy thief among their group of
friends. These thieves usually stick to small but repitive attacks;
they always act as if they were always insulted or in need of
consolation, and they crave attention. By receiving attention
through manipulation, thieves share in the energy resources of
others. Often, this strategy more or less works for extended
periods of time, until one day, the constantly "exhausted" partner
or parent gets sick, collapses, flees, or announces the depletion of
his or her energies in a similarly dramatic way.02) THE POWER VAMPIREDominating others, forcing an opinion on them, and manipulating
their thoughts and actions are, for many, valid methods for feeling
good, strong, and confident. In a similar fashion, power vampires
get high on the power they extert over others. They pursue
dominant roles at work and at home --- as managers, as bosses of
every rank, and as the one "wearing the pants" --- and have others
acting at their behest. Of course, we most often encounter power
vampires in politics, and in clubs, and organizations that more
readily dole out positions of power, more so than in other areas of
life. The charisma that they project and that we often admire is
usually the reflection of all the energy they have stolen from their
admirers and subordinates. The overbearing salesperson who tries
to sell you an overpriced product of questionable utility is often
following not only his desire for profits, but also his hope to tap
the energy of his customer by exerting power. After all, money is
nothing but a symbol for the flow of energy over which people are
constantly fighting. It's no wonder that at the end of such an
encounter we feel as empty and exhausted as our bank account.
Our energy vampire, the salesperson, has feasted on our energy as
well as our money. 03) THE FEAR VAMPIREWe encounter psychologically ill or otherwise spiritually disturbed
people more often than most of us might like to believe. Because
their life energy is blocked, they try to tap the energy sources of
others. They most often enter our psyches by instilling fears or
doubts, leading us to doubt people we peviously trusted, or
ourselves and our abilities. Fear vampires often instill fear of
possible conspiracies or other imminent catastrophes. Usually, we
can easily avoid contact with such people, and I strongly
recommend avoiding any sort of emotional connection with them.
But, what if ones' boss or collegue or even ones' own partner turns
out to be an energy vampire of this type?--- ENERGY VAMPIRES, pgs. 4-7This book is available from Hidden Mysteries:http://www.hiddenmysteries.com/item500/item597.htmlKDB = Buffalo, NY USA
