You did indeed, hit the nail on the head when you said...

I was out riding today and I pretty much came to the conclusion that your disgust with the war is probably akin to my disgust with abortion.

It's a priority thing. Your priority seems to be abortion. I see our current set of circumstances and War on Terror as a far more important deal. I just feel that there's no urgent need to deal with abortion.

It's still legal...it's an individual choice at this point...and I feel the real key to what you would term "convenience abortions" is birth control...which is also an individual choice and responsibility. Now, I separate all the other nasty reasons for a woman to have ended up pregnant...because with those birth control plays no part...and all the abortions done for health reasons...either the mothers health or because there's a problem with the fetus. I don't think you could call those types "convenience abortions."

So, your big problem  from my perspective on it, is to prevent "convenience abortions" you need to get people to be responsible about birth control. We know people are just not responsible...and in the heat of the moment likely won't pause...think...and get dressed and say "I'm running to the drug store be right back."

So, where I'm going with this is, abortion is the end result...to do something about abortion you need to attack other societal issues. Once you're at the abortion stage...or the she's pregnant stage...you've really already missed the boat on the "how to stop a convenience abortion" part. You'd be attacking the end result but missing all the whys and hows of the path that led there.

So I think if you only attack the doctors, clinics, woman, Democrats...these people are not the problem and it's a lazy, and as you have probably noticed, not very effective method for preventing or lowering the number of abortions that take place. I remember being in this college where there were bowls of free condoms everywhere. In all the dorm room hallways...I mean they were just all over the place. I think that was a decent idea...free condoms were right outside your door. Maybe putting bowls of free condoms in all the high schools and junior high schools would be a good start for kids. Teens tend not to be too responsible you know. Load them up with condoms tell 'em what it's all about...that might cut down on some abortions...they could do a study on it if they haven't already.

I don’t think there’s a whole lot of middle ground there for us to pitch out tents on.

I don't agree. If we keep talking we can find a middle ground. That's the key Kevin. We have different ideas and beliefs but we keep talking...it's only when one of us gets up and walks away that it's over. When it gets quiet you know there's trouble...I think soldiers and parents always say that...two groups that see their fair share of trouble.

Bottom line is we can't find the middle ground if we stop looking...and we did get to the point where we came to an agreement on something, didn't we?
