Icon Music Vs Beer Observation...

Has anyone noticed that music cds are uniformly priced almost like nothing else out there?  For example, compare the pricing structure to that of beer.  A twelve pack of beer costs how ever much it is according to the brand or quality.  Bud Light, depending on bottles or cans, can be around 8 bucks for a twelve pack, while Busch can be had for about 13 bucks for a 30 pack.  How come cds are more often than not, priced the same regardless of who puts them out?  Sure, you can go to a store and buy a Richard Marx cut out for $1.99, but if quality is the standard, then why is a cd by someone like Justin Timberlake $16.99?

(Now used cds don't count in this comparsion - one certainly doesn't go around buying used beer; that would be called urine).
