Tim Russert was on Late Edition and they rolled the clip with Powell. Russert said that one of Powell's people only wanted the interview to go so long..and when they thought Russert was stretching the interview out too far did they order the camera to be turned away. Powell had an angry tone in his voice and had the camera turned back on him and the question was asked. On Late Edition they didn't show any more so I don't know what the question was. It appeared to me to be an over zealous Powell aid. Russert did compare the situation unfavorably to "other" countries...and although it was an embarrassing moment for Powell...I'm not sure if it was that bad. Then again...I wasn't watching the interview and what questions Russert was asking before and after the incident. By the way - I think the more news worthy thing dealing with Powell is his assertion that as soon as the Iraqis tell us to leave - we're out of there. With the recent poll showing an overwhelming desire for us to leave by the average Iraqi and supposed "elections" coming up - I don't see how someone is going to win such an "election" who supports the US occupation...and therefore, it looks like we're gone by June or January at the latest. It's mid May. Can it still be called a cut and run? Are we gonna take Saddam with us?Dan
