Eric:Paula and I saw the Dead once --- when the hometown band
10,000 MANIACS opened for them at Rich Stadium. We were
perhaps the only two people in the entire place that weren't on
some sort of a chemical excursion. Paula and I were big fans of the
Maniacs, and that was the only reason why we went. The GRATEFUL DEAD in my opinion were hopeless. They were
rambling and aimless in their performance. It was a complete
mess. No, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love improv, but this was all
legend and no substance.P.S. - Regarding YES, they are a band whom to me, are much more
than prog rock. I really love their spiritual message, and I grew into
a bigger fan after meeting the entire band on the 1991 UNION
tour. For me, it's much more than the music. In many ways, they
are on a spiritual journey, as I also happen to be.KDB = Buffalo, NY USA
