This past weekend while I sat listening to Gene (Gene from this board) play me his great version of All For You - I came up with (or maybe it was Gene who came up with it) the idea for a compilation of sorts.  I know there are quite a few musicians who read and post on this message board and who are fans of David's music.  And more than likely they have their own favorite DB songs to play.  So...what I would like to do is have people send me their cover versions of any DB tune.  After I get them all, I'll put them on this site and maybe set up a copying network to spread some CD copies around.  I can take most any format - cassette tape, CD, or video tape (8mm, VHS, and miniDV).  The cover tunes can be done in any manner - solo or with a band.  There's no real deadline for submissions at this time - but I'll probably set a deadline before too long.  Hopefully we can put something together before the end of the year.

Any comments or suggestions about this idea?  Oh yeah, Gene came up with the name of the compilation - "the punks and the drunks and the bad guitar players"
