I saw the inteview and thought the same thing, EEE. Sean Penn impresses with each interview I see. Thoughtful, witty, painfully sensitive at times, and earnest as hell! I can see why these two guys are pals. As to Brando, for me, he brought a certain phyiscality to acting that was revolutionary. DeNiro, who is my personal fave, took it to the next level with Raging Bull and Cape Fear. I think that Sean Penn and Russell Crowe admirably continue the tradition. Now if I can just track down a few Paul Muni movies I can see where Brando learned a few things.
