He was in the midst of supper when I interrupted.  I explained that a bunch of the DBIS folks got together and got him a little something to pass the time.  He was floored.  Not speechless mind you, just floored.  I actually saw a smile or two. 

Kyle says a big and mighty like a rose thank you to all who donated.  He was feeling too unsexy for a picture, but promised he will get his mom to take one for you all to see.  I think he likes it a lot, just taking a bit of time to sink in.  I was not sure if he had a DB DVD on the way, so I lent him mine while I am out of town for a few weeks.

We chatted for an hour and a half about music, cars, life, etc..  He is anxious to get out of the hospital, but feels it will likely be mid-late August before he is going home.  It is amazing how much you have in common with somebody when you open up with them.  Very bright guy (Kyle that is!) 

If anybody here can spare a brief moment, give him a shout.  He would love to hear from you, helps break the monotony of the long days.  The hospital telly # was posted before, he is the south wing, upper 3rd floor.  The nursing station can take a cordless phone to him.

p.s.  it was a very tough drive home, so many thoughts race through your mind.
