Wow, I didn't mean to take this thread so far off base....whew!
Yes Gene, I know it's cliche', but my dog was like my child (I don't have real ones), and it was an extremely difficult decision to put him down. It was a very peaceful passing for him though and I'm glad it went so well and so painlessly. Thanks for your kind words.
As for human euthanasia, I agree that consenting individuals, of sound mind, should have that right too. So much for the Feds staying out of the state's business in Oregon. I didn't realize that was the case there.
