A Kid's Review
THE PROPER TITLE FOR THIS REPORT SHOULD BE: "INTELLIGENCE FAILURES: The 2004 scapegoat for Bush Co."

WHERE IS THIS PART IN THE REPORT?

"The BBC later reports, "After the elections, US intelligence agencies are told to 'back off' investigating the Bin Ladens and Saudi royals, and that angers agents... Even as US intelligence is given conclusive evidence that al-Qaeda is behind the USS Cole bombing (see January 25, 2001), the new Bush administration discontinues the covert deployment of cruise missile submarines and gunships on six-hour alert near Afghanistan's borders that had begun under President Clinton (see Late 1998-January 2001). The standby force gave Clinton the option of an immediate strike against targets in al-Qaeda's top leadership.

The discontinuation makes a possible assassination of bin Laden much more difficult. [Washington Post, 1/20/02]"

Jan 31: The final report of the US Commission on National Security/21st Century, co-chaired by former Senators Gary Hart (D), and Warren Rudman (R) is issued (see also September 15, 1999). The bipartisan report was put together in 1998 by then-President Bill Clinton and then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich. The report has 50 recommendations on how to combat terrorism in the US, but ALL of them are ignored by the Bush Administration.

Wow! How patriotic! One ignored recommendation for EACH STATE! Only a Bush loving fool would defend this blatant treason.

THIS CAN ALL BE FOUND ON COOPERATIVERESEARCH.ORG WITH LINKS TO ALL THE MAINSTREAM SITES!!!

9/11: A Conspiracy? YES. A Theory? NO.

I can't wait to hear ANY explanation of why Bush removed the subs that could kill Osama and then told the FBI & CIA to "back off" of Bin Laden and the Saudi's all while ignoring 50 recomendations on how to fight terror.

***

Since the "intellectually challenged" George W. Bush stole office in January 2001, the phrase "intelligence failure" has become a cliche'.

The voters in Florida didn't know how to punch the cards - It was an "intelligence failure." 9/11 came out of nowhere and no one had the "imagination" to conceive of such a thing AND the FBI & CIA didn't like each other - It was an "intelligence failure." The WMD's? Saddam's ties to 9/11? Umm... We don't KNOW! It's an "intelligence failure!!!"

BUT ISN'T AN "INTELLIGENCE FAILURE" JUST A FANCY WAY OF SAYING YOU'RE "STUPID?"

Now, I'll grant you that this book is cheap... I mean, 8 bucks is a STEAL. But it's STILL not worth the tree pulp it's written on because the 9/11 commission was underfunded from the start. Bush gave the SPACE SHUTTLE CRASH COMMISSION 50 MILLION DOLLARS, WHILE ONLY GIVING 3 MILLION TO THE 9/11 COMMISSION. When the Commission begged for just 11 million more so they could do their jobs CORRECTLY, BUSH SAID NO (Time Magazine).

In fact, Bush initially OPPOSED the 9/11 investigation. He only approved it after there was overwhelming support for the commission. Bush even initially hired Henry Kissenger, a throw back to the secretively treasonous Nixon days. Once he couldn't get away with THAT and Kissenger stepped down, Bush appointed Thomas Kean, a Republican and former Gov. of New Jersey, to head the 9/11 Commission.

And what did Kean say on December 17, 2003?

"This was not something that had to happen. There are people that, if I was doing the job, would certainly not be in the position they were in at that time because they failed... They simply failed." (CBSNEWS.COM)

Wow! Can't get much clearer than THAT! Looks like another intelligence faliure... It kind of reminds me of the time when former Iraqi weapons inspector David Kay, said that "We were all wrong..." regarding the WMD's. Oh the memories... However, in this 9/11 "final report", all you will see is 500 pages of white washing and backtracking and of course, flip-flopping.

BUT THEY SAY KERRY'S A "FLIP-FLOPPER, RIGHT?

In September 2001, Bush said capturing bin Laden was "our No. 1 priority." By March 2002, he was claiming, "I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important." In October 2001, he was dead set against the need for a Department of Homeland Security. Seven months later, he thought it was a great idea. In May 2002, he opposed the creation of the 9/11 commission. Four months later, he supported it.... Wait! There's more..... During the 2000 campaign, he said that gay marriage was a states' rights issue: "The states can do what they want to do." During the 2004 campaign, he called for a constitutional ban on gay marriage. Bush supported CO2 caps, then opposed them. He opposed trade tariffs, then he didn't. Then he did again. He was against nation building, then he was OK with it. We'd found WMD, then we hadn't. Saddam was linked to Osama, then he wasn't. Then he was ... sorta. Chalabi was in, then he was out. Way out. We didn't need more troops, then we did. We didn't need more money, then we did. Preemption was a great idea -- on to Syria, Iran and North Korea! Then it wasn't -- hello, diplomacy! Baathists were the bad guys, then Baathists were our buds. We didn't need the U.N., then we did.

And all this from a man who, once upon a time, made "credibility" a key to his appeal...

(Well, in his defense, he's never lied about oral sex.)

GOD LESS AMERICA.
