They were astonishingly peaceful so I don't think they'll do any harm out there in Middle America. From what I saw on CBS and NBC and the NYT online they were also pretty diverse with lots of age groups and ethnicities represented.
Will they help Kerry beat Bush? Probably not. It's inconceivable to me that there are any undecided voters out there. No one could complain that there isn't a choice in this election so it's hard to figure what tidbit of new information would allow these poor unfortunates to arrive at a decision.
Do I wish I'd been there today? Hell yes!
