Currently holding my attention:
Bonnaroo Music Festival - DVD
I'm not a big "jam band" fan but this set has a little of everything for most everybody. I never thought I'd see The Del McCoury Band with DJ Logic scratchin' on the same stage. Good tune from Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer also.
King Crimson - Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With
An EP teaser of things to come in the near future.Very good teaser it is too with a heavy opener followed by a lighter Adrian Belew tune and then a blues number. The set is held together with interesting tone poems and other bits of studio experiments and banter.
The Chieftains - Down The Old Plank Road ( The Nashville Sessions )
Excellent as always with lots of Nashville's finest sitting in. A good follow up to "Another Country" from a few years back. RIP Derek Bell.
Luther Wright & The Wrongs - Rebuild The Wall
A surprisingly good take on Pink Floyd's The Wall from start to finish in Country, bluegrass and honky tonk fashion from a Canadian band who apprantly has some pretty good original material.
A Fine Mess - Still finds it's way into the player between everything else.
The V-Roys - Just Add Ice
One of my favorite local bands. If you are familiar with Scott Miller and the Commonwealth you need to pick up on the V-Roys. This was the previous Scott Miller vehical produced by The Twang Trust. ( Steve Earle and Ray Kennedy ) They made three rockin' little rekkids.
The Big Easy - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
This was my introduction to fine Zydeco music, it still makes my toes move.
