It's interesting to note that 41 states at one time or another had laws banning interracial marriages. Here's a quote from a judge (Leo Bazeel(sp?) from Virginia - 1963)that seems to sum up the mindset -
"Almighty God created the races white, black, malay, and red and He placed them on different continents. And but for the interference with His arrangement, there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that He seperated the races shows that He did not intend for the races to mix".
