I think elitism has a few different stages. First it's more a state of mind/underlying world view rather the size of ones bank account. This type finds comfort in the cradle to grave do-gooderism at the taxpayers expense. Because of course, since it's for a good cause. the government has a bottomless wallet.

As we climb the elite ladder it does become more of a personal economic issue. I could go on & on about this. All of us need to face the fact that even in these modern times this is not a classless society except in some much of our entertainment and personal behavior.

I would lean toward Dales choice as to what type of elitist you might be Ed. You come off that way. But as stated elsewhere, you don't ignore enough of the refutations of the apparent oposition.
