I too enjoy how U2 has tried new things over the years. It's sorta amazing how they've held onto nearly the top rung for nearly 25 years. I haven't liked it all. As to the Ipod deal, in a world crammed with so many crap acts commanding all the news, it must be hard to be a band/act where everyone's over 40, 50, 60, and still, receive press. I listen to a ton of new music and I'm still interested in great new artists (Angela McClusky, Thea Gilmore, Jolie Holland to name 3), but lord knows, I'm still interested in what the older set are doing. I'm listening now to a live Neil Young show someone gave me a ways back and I could care less that Neil's 57 or something like that. It's fantastic. So--good luck to U2. I like Bono's attempts at influencing 3rd world debt too. It's sometimes sloppy but I think his heart's in the right place on it.
