I'll give you just one Democrat attempt at making us safer (and if you honestly look you'll find more) - a couple of years ago the Dems and others were trying to get in safeguards in regards to America's chemical plants.

If you get off your rear end and do a little research, if the terrorists really wanted to create havoc, they would fly planes into American chemical plants or blow them up. In fact, there is a site in the East where such a thing would be devastating and the casualties would be in the hundreds of thousands.

Anyway, the Dems, other agencies and watchdog groups started pointing this out and guess what? It was killed in committee by YOUR repuglicans. The chemical lobby killed any investigation into this area.

And if you think this is bullshit, then think of how many times you read of towns being evacuated because of train derailments.

And really, why should the Dems offer any plans? Your craven, political Pres would only take the credit for them (i.e., the tax rebate (Dem idea), tax credit for children (Dem idea), and even Homeland Security (though the value of that one is up for debate).

Besides, the first thing one does when he is standing in a hole and digging deeper and can't get out is to stop digging.

And since Bush and his cronies want to keep digging, I say let them.
