I was at that Timbuck 3/ GoGo's show,  that was a good one.

For me the most memorable 4th of July show was The Replacements. in 91 (oh so long ago). They basically broke up on stage, ending their set with " This is the last Replacements show ever". That free grant park show was the last they ever played together, as far as I know.

Good times are there waitin' to be had.

Quick story about the type of things you might see there in the park. (isolated incident. Don't be afraid)

A man obviously over-served, alone, passed out on the lawn, not bothering anyone. The Chicago Police come by and start to pick this guy up, to a chorus of Boo's from the other patrons. The cops gently deposited him sitting upright against a tree (I assume for his own safety). They proceed to pick up the 750ml bottle of Vodka at his side and begin to dump it out on the grass again to another chorus of Boo's, at which point the cops start filling peoples outstretched cups with the criminal Vodka. The crowd went wild.

I love this city.
