I have recently immersed myself in converting my VHS tapes to DVD (concerts, my daughter's early years, etc.). I am normally intimidated by electronic devices but this VCR/DVD Recorder was damn easy to use. I picked it up at BJs Wholesale Club for less than $200. For those of you who are uncomfortable with the idea of DVD burning on your computer, this is a viable alternative. My sense is that I don't have as many options as the computer would afford, but the preservation of the footage is paramount to me. Those old tapes won't last forever so keep this in mind. And if you have small children, make sure you capture their early years for future viewing. It is enormously meaningful to look back on these years.
