Not sure I can answer that question to anyone's satisfaction. The second time GV objected to tax cuts being fiscally irresponsible, Trent Lott called him into his office - when he came out, 180 turn. that's all that was reported by AP. This was before the last election - since GV's 6 year term outlast's Bush's he may feel free to object without fear of reprisal. This was in this morning's PD - George as seen by the home town audience.
