Well, it is now looking like the Newsweek report of the Koran abuse wasn't too far off. One unreleased report states a solider has been disciplined in the past for such behaviorhttp://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/story/311282p-266320c.htmlAnd the Red Cross brought up this issue in 2002http://www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?c_id=2&ObjectID=10126589But I guess the Red Cross (once ran by Libby Dole and a bunch of religious conservatives is just really an ultra liberal peacenik terrorist loving group of hippy freaks). Which brings us to a quote and a thing to ponder - why is the world so shocked at the thought of US soldiers doing this when all of the other abuses have already been done and documented?"If once a man indulges himself in murder, very soon he comes to think little of robbing; and from robbing he comes next to drinking and Sabbath-breaking, and from that to incivility and procrastination."Thomas De Quincey(And don't get me wrong - I have deep respect and care for American soliders - what I don't have respect for is how the current Adminstration has created this environment by its terrorist behind every tree frenzy and continued disinformation. Does everyone recall back in one of the Dirty Harry movies, I think it was The Enforcer, where Clint Eastwood is brought on the carpet for being too tough on criminals. Harry reminds the adminstrator about a meeting they had where it was agreed to take the handcuffs off the police and use all force necessary to bring them in. The adminstrator's reply was something like, "well, I didn't mean use violence." To me, that is what we have in all of this - these soldiers were led to believe it was okay to act in a certain way and are now the scapegoats for so much of all of this while the high ranking officers are skating - though that is not an excuse for this behavior at all).
